Nathalie and I flew into Sydney from Paris before we headed south to Melbourne to catch up with my family. I'd organised a house swap with a Sydney couple who in turn stayed in our home in Normandy. Well, we fell on our feet, that's an understatement. The apartment was on Mosman Point, just across Sydney Harbour from the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. We had water views on 3 sides and I could land a stone in the water from out 4th floor balcony. Quite stunning.

Sydney, Australia

Sydney is a magnificent place, particularly if you have money and can enjoy the harbour-side lifestyle. It really is naturally beautiful (and that's coming from a Melbournian). We traveled mostly on the harbour ferries and were lucky enough to have a ferry terminal right below our apartment. We'd watch the ferry approach and then head down in time to catch it!
It's hard to pick out highlights but we did do a day trip out to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. That was pretty special as was our visit to Bondi Beach. Nathalie certainly got to visit quite a few Aussie icons.
